I have been observing the 'North Chant List' thread on the dark side.
I guard myself from contributing anything as I am not in the NT.
However, it has been my impression that basically all chants are copied from overseas.
However it is something we could think about. Not for us to sing because we are too few. But I am sure there are some NT people who may be more open minded to suggestions.
One tune which I think would be terrific is "Along the Road to Gundagui". It has longish phrasing and it has a rythm that can be clapped. _________________

i have long been of the opinion that some aussie bands' songs could serve well as chants, eg roll on by the living end, take me to the april sun in cuba by dragon could be reworked into something ("take me to the sun in costa rica, her-nan-dez!" or something not as lame), we could do a thunderstruck chant for archie (this would work for socceroos games too, as that's what is played when the 'roos take the field - "you've been.... ARCHIE-STRUCK! NAAAAH NAAAH NAH NAAAAH NAAAAH")
anyway, 2c worth... for what it's worth... can anyone even get those coins now? |

Never heard that song before actually...
but yeah, aussie songs can work as a chant
I remember the days when we use to sing many australian songs at socceroo games, now a lot of people won't even join in |
