Yeah it is down again.
Nothing I can do about it cos the datacentre (the place the server is located) has had a power failure. Probably be another two hours.  |

P.S. I bet you it's not a power failure, the environmental gods are probably trying to get me to write my climate change and politics essay...

Good.....I want a wave emoticon....but I can't work out how to do anything with this website, after all Jonks the admin, but he's sorta gone AWOL, and doesn't seem to be too active with OSS anyway.
Maybe this is something that needs resolution....

The gods are against me because instead of writing the essays I need to do I am stressing over the server.

if there are gods intervening here, it is to punish the people who were on the darkside at 5.00am 
I have a 15 min window before I go out (to see Keating the Musical), and I was hoping for a few mins forum time.
No such luck :disappointedfase:
But I feel suitably honoured by Seb's visit to our little forum. |

| I could bore you with a long winded and technical reason for the outage but I will just leave it as a 'typhoon' **** up the power supply to the datacentre that is located in Dallas, USA. |

looks like a couple people would quite welcome a long and technical reason to avoid the other things they should be doing
but it is kind of fun to know that our world can be turned upside down by a typhoon in Dallas

Just came through:
"Power has been restored to the datacenter and all servers are now being brought back online by technicians on staff. Servers will be brought online in series over the next 20 minutes to ensure power surges do not occur."
But it will take longer because system checks have to be done on the server when rebooted. |

| It seems to be down when I'm at home on my laptop... but I can't find a reason to turn on my PC - waste of electricity IMO if I have no use for it bar darkside... |
