sorry for starting a new thread, cos I know there is stuff about today here and there, but ....

we will appear in some form, but we are a bit of a mess

I have viral laryngitis and cannot speak above a whisper
I'll have 1 kid and 3 teens around with me
himself will come once he finishes work, but may miss part of the game

I'm thinking of trying to get my flag waving again, since I can't speak
and I'll bring some other colour
and the kazoos
but I haven't managed to get my hands on balloons as yet

what a fiasco!

I managed to persuade a couple of friends to join us
but in trying to leave with them we ended up missing a train
so we arrived at 10 to 5.00

there I find the whole bay full of non-chanting punters and lonely Gweeds the only OSS
my nephews were there with 3 friends, but they had all sat near the front
the other people who came with me found seats here and there in the crowd
so I had a party of 11, but they were mingled in with the crowd out of earshot

me and Gweeds stood at the back by ourselves - me mute with laryngitis

about 15 mins into the game, DD appears - and her friends are similarly lost in the crowd
Rollins comes even later with 2 mates
he sizes up the situation and decides to try the South end for this game, but comes back in the second half after trying the South, North and Level 3
Carlo arrives late from work

didn't see Topher at all - have a vague memory he may have said somewhere he couldn't get to this game

there were 20 of us, plus sundry kids, but we were too late to claim a space for ourselves

we had a lot of chat,
visitors
a nice view of the scrappy game in front of us
Gweeds cracked out the kazoo a couple of times
Carlo, Gweeds and Rollins started to raise their voices a little towards the end of the game

Are you people Gold Members? If not I have no idea how we failed to find you. I even stood up and screamed "Offside Set?!" a couple of times. Didn't hear a kazoo.

Awful preformance

If you were right at the edge of the GA section, near the gold members fence, then you were in the right place. We didn't get our **** together yesterday, most were late (I missed kick off) and some didn't turn up at all, or went elsewhere, we barely sung, no balloons or streamers, one kazoo, and no kids (scattered in seats throught the GA) and general **** moods all round, especially after the final whistle.

I have hope that something can be salvaged, but I fear that perhaps it's irredeemable unless we get some new blood, and some more numbers to come and join us.

Really, REALLY sorry to disappoint.

That's a good area if we're attacking that end, but sometimes you need the telly to see what happened at the other which is a bad sign. (We ALWAYS attack the Latrobe St first half have you noticed ? )

No need to apologize. I was there, with a few buddies, I drank beer, I watched, I went home unhappy. :?

But I'm not standing up and screaming "offside set!?" anymore !

I'm always at the Charles Dickens until 40 mins before k.o with a few peopl;e
