I think Perth would have been broken down sooner if he had been playing.
Merrick treats these yellow/red cards as though they're quite acceptable because Muscat is such an "inspiration" or whatever. A side affect of him still being unhinged. Gives so much off the park. Fine, but we'd prefer him ON the park
I think he should apologize to us when he gets redded. Without exception they are plain stupid, and not to do with poor refereeing.
Even on a yellow he'll always wade in to any altercation as though he has to be in charge of fighting too.
(Still love him natch) |

Its way too late in his career for him to change. True, i'd like to see him not give away silly frees and get carded, but he is a bit of a target and gets yellows where a verbal warning would do.
I don't know if even having him on the park would have gotten us past Perth sooner. They were really resolute in defence. Brebs wouldn't have been in that position to strike if Musky was playing, he even said he would have been playing on the corner of the box, instead of where he was.
We just gotta accept him warts and all. I think he has mellowed much more this season than last...his one red card was as soft as they come. |
