Interesting...seems to be on our wavelength..(unless it is a windup ;))
http://www.melbournevictory.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19097
What is "V for Victory" .... not just a supporters group but a state of mind.
A group of people who get together for the game, a Pizza after the game and think about how we can make this experience for everyone.
Yes we are the group that welcomes everyone not matter what your interests are or your background. We have members in Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
We just want you to hold the following true ...
(1) Promote MVFC in a way where kids and adults can enjoy the club (we are a mixed group and include families)
(2) Want to see MVFC win the league, the grand final and the Asian Club Championships
(3) Want to see improvements in Fox Sports Coverage of the A-League
(4) Want to see the club cater for a wider audience and attact the pluralistic membership it needs
(5) Want to see all MVFC supporters groups working together to support the club
(6) Want to see away travel more coordinated so that all members can have the opportunity to see the guys play
You will see us travelling to both home and away games and we want to encourage you to blog.
We don't have a secret rituals and we don't choose if you are good enough to join.
We just have one symbol which we borrowed from Winston Churchill ... V for Victory ... Look at the logo
Why ... because we want to support the club to win ... win with strong membership which lets the club win on the field |

Pity they didn't feel that what we were offering would suit them, as we are basically the same deal.
Maybe we should try to foster some ties? |

As I have written in the Dark Side they seem to want to do what we tried to do at the start: Re-surrect the UNION.
If you look at their objective they are quite similar ie. a supporter club for all, a group that organises away trips, lobby for more TV etc.
Much more ambitious than we have ever been. If they can get organised at that level it would be fantastic, lots of work though. |

That's why i think we should stand together. If we support their aims, although don't want to push for them ourselves, then we can help each other.
I'd like to PM their rep and see what we can sort out. If V stand with us, then we get more numbers (we're more about support than anything else) and they get to add our voice to their demands.
(BTW i'm drunk now...at work!...so try to take my words semi-seriously, but not too seriously....i need more beer). |

| I need to have a look at the thread yet, but I must say I'm quite suspicious.....sounds VERY union, I'm very curious as to whose behind it. |

I love that
"i'm drunk... at work"
Which makes it even weirder lol.
This is a very unusual group. And given offside, why the need ...? |

| The person who has posted only joined 2 days ago and has 9 posts, I'm sure the poster is a multi, says that they were in Sydney in the weekend. Tread carefully people.... |

they V for Victory thing does not give any contact details, does it?
it also doesn't say anything about active support - only about watching games and having pizza
maybe they are in Canberra? |
