Sooo, first big one oout at our chosen spot, how do you think it went?
I think we need to get a momentum of our own, get some good chatns going, maybe "sing with me for the victory" something that's fun and join inable.
How cool was it to have the people with the instruments!!!!!
Would be good to stay in that spot JUST to feed off them, and vice versa, IF they also stay there. we've got a drum without even trying!!! |

Apart from losing :( I thought that there it was more difficult to get into chants etc. because we were quite far away from the more established groups where we seemed to feed off from at other times. Also we were sorrounded by people who were not interested in any active support at all which made it difficult. (although they many did joing with the 'Melbourne clap clap clap' chant) One bloke complained when we did not sit down at the start of the match. I also found it difficult to tie in with the 'goldcrew' as I could not hear them at all.
Anyway I think we should persist where we are. It is a good view and if we get bigger we may make more of an ompact.
I think we need an OSS banner which can be held up though to identify ourselves. |

Yes, it is hard to get things going on our own, but it'll happen, and yes we do have the BEST view!!!
spoke to Cafu after the game, got good advice about the "i see fred" chant :D
EDIT: BTW, I've played the "Leaps and Bounds song to my kid last week and he's been singing it UNPROVOKED all week, especially tonight, the bits "I remember" and "i go in leaps and bounds" is VERY EASY to grasp.....
We need songs that we'll all sing, that will access the surrounding sitters. |

| Everytime I see Cafu, he's got a nw chant. He loves the 'fred' one. If you see him next week (if you go to sydney game) ask him about his Carbone chant. |

I agree with what the others have said - espcially Gweeds
1. the view of the game was good
2. we could not hear the other groups well, so we could not feed off them and we had to rely on our own resources
3. on the other hand, at the last game a lot of the time we were listening to the SDC rather than actually participating - I don't think we chanted any less this time than we did then - it was just quieter around us when we didn't
4. we could not hear the goldcrew at all over that distance and angle
5. it was a bit stressful and tricky securing the standing room, but it worked out ok - there was one guy who should have understood what we were doing, and was either too thick or too aggro to get it, and got nasty with Cityblue, but it soon got sorted
6. I reckon our numbers were quite good - I think we had about 20 adults and 10 kids, but more would be better
7. my legs get tired standing on the concrete and stuck between the seats
8. we do need a banner, with our name on it
9. I prefer that position to the previous one, even though it is more work in some ways
10. I enjoy the company of the other people in our group :D
11. most of the people around us were very determined not to join in with us, but there was that great group of kids down in the next aisle who were getting into it
12. the drum was great - he really knew what he was doing - kept it syched with the play |

The issue also is that we have selected a premium place in GA. basically in the same bay as Gold members (which of course were completely empty).
So I guess there would be people upset that we are taking up one of the best section in GA with flags and standing up etc.
I came late but were there problems with TD staff? I thought it was good that there was no hassle from them.
Hopefully, as we bacame more established some people will avoid that area and some will seek us out. |

Maybe if we print more of those chant sheets (reduce the size of the manifesto and just make it clear in a few sentences what we do) and then hand them out to people who try and sit in our area, it'd be cool.
It'll let them know that we'll be making noise and they might join in or move to a quieter section.
Otherwise we may end up having to our sacrifice view and move to the other side of the away end nearer SDC.
If it was them on one side and us on the other it'd be cool. |

Yeah id prefer to move further back, more room between seats for standing & easier to get to the bar. Besides i didn't just make my banner to just reserve seats all night.
Was pretty disapointed with the night overall, however the feadback i got from my parents who sat near us was positive. Most seemed to be enjoying our little group & some people even joined in down the front, we just couldn't hear em. |

your banner probably needs poles on each side, so we can actually hold it up
I don't mind reserving the seats behind us, myself, though we need a better way to do it.
Not sure how I feel about moving further back - but closer to the aisle is a good idea.
I'll go along with moving further back, if that is what people want. |

Dissapointed with myself really, didn't even lose my voice.  :)
The banners too big for poles... |

I suppose I'm relieved you feel disappointed in yourself, and not the rest of us!
Everyone is entitled to their moody days. But the game was not calculated to help, cos I think we all suspected it might be the end of our winning streak. And the constant dropping of our players was a bit frustrating.
How do we display your banner if it will not go on poles?
We don't have a surface to attach it to either - not a large high one anyway.
We could hold it above our heads? |

I think the situation near the SDC made the chanting easier for us last time, cos we could piggy back on them.
And the first time we were just happy to manage any at all.
In this spot we are relying on our own resources, and need to establish habits and conventions about how to choose chants and how to get them started. |

I REALLY think we should hold Rollins' banner ABOVE our heads as the players come on, maybe until kick off (4 people one on each corner?). And if i can get this Offsiders banner sorted, then we should hold that aloft too. Me and Topher held up his flag at the start, and I REALLY REALLy Want to show off Rollins' banner, I suggested we hold it above our heads both this game and last.
Maybe we could somehow string it at the dividing fence for the rest of the game, but don't want to obscure the view between Cafu and us. Am thinking we should NUMBER the chants and if we keep and eye on each other we could simultaneously (ish) start a chant. |
