| The "10 bananas" for Queensland is a must, fun for all the family, the kid was singing it on the train all the way home after the Roar match at TD. |

you must know it, cos it is just about the most popular tune for football chants
but Guantanamera is the original Spanish tune they are based on
there have been other Victory chants to it, but I can't think of them just now |

As the Prez just pointed out, there is great potential for a chant in Kossie's little outburst on Sunday.
We should maybe think of something in preparation for a future meeting (those who make it to Adelaide on the 1 Dec might be able to use it.
He suggested something along the lines of you're just a country village.
We could also explore the potential of anger management for both Kossie and Butcher. |

(To "oh melbourne is..." tune)
New Zealand is so full of sheep,
New Zealand is so full of sheep,
It's full of sheep sheep and more sheep,
New Zealand is so full of sheep.
The kid sang that to his NZ class mate, and she loved it, replying, "yeah there are a lot of sheeep in New Zealand!"

Oh there ain't no melbourne victory boys in hell
(down in hell)
Oh there ain't no melbourne victory boys in hell
(down in hell)
Coz it's full of Butcher's daughters,
They're the Scum FC Supporters
Ooooooh theeere
ain't no melbourne victory boys in hell !
Unfortunately this may be out of date now that butcher has been sacked so may have to be modified somewhat, i can't keep up with these things.
(to the tune of she'll be comin' roun' the mountain when she comes - or something like that.)
Adapted from a ditty the fighter pilots used to sing in the pub WWII days
oh there ain't no fighter pilots down in hell
oh there ain't no fighter pilots down in hell
oh the place is full of queers,
navigator,
bombadiers
oh there ain't no fighter pilots down in hell
...being the rather homophobic types they were of course .. but is a good basis for a chant. |

I like the chant Juana
but I am afraid it does not pass the sexism test for me at the minute
with the other groups being so cavalier in riding roughshod over my feminist sensibilities, I feel the need to be quite hard line for the OSS
perhaps I am going too far - I'll have a further think about it
but I would welcome a modified gender-neutral version |
